DC Superheroes - Doomsday
Doomsday was part of the 2nd wave of DC Superheroes action figures back in 2006 along with Superman, Supergirl and Bizarro. Doomsday stands approximately 6.5 inches tall to the top of his head. Just a little over 7 inches if you count his pony tail. He should probably be just a bit taller.
As you would expect, Doomsday has a lot of cool spiky bones protruding from his entire monster like body. Its mostly made with a soft rubber but all very well detailed.
The paint job is decent with some minor smudges here and there. There is some shading over his skin around his arms and legs. The face is very clean. Although you can't really see his eyes in this picture below, they are painted red behind the bones.
Doomsday does not come with any accessories but if you buy him still in the package, you will be treated to a reprint of "Man of Steel" Issue #19
Comparing Mattel's Doomsday to DC Direct, you will notice right off the bat a size difference. DC Direct probably has the correct size but as far as articulation goes, Mattel wins hands down. Mattel's version has joints in the neck, shoulders, biceps, elbows, wrists, abdominal, waist, hips, thighs, knees and calves and ankles. One note, the bones on his shoulders do obstruct the shoulder joint movement a little but its not too bad.
Putting the size issues aside, Mattel's DC Superheroes Doomsday is a pretty cool figure. He still stands slightly taller than the DCSH Superman figure from the same wave.Overall, DCSH Doomsday is a cool action figure that is a must have if you collect the Superman action figures or the related Mattel DC Universe Classics toy line. Generally, Mattel has been doing a good job with these action figures and Doomsday is no exception.
Now, if you're looking for your very own Doomsday action figure, my favorite place to find him would be eBay. If you read my blog regularly, you will see that I am a heavy user of eBay, especially to find older toys that are no longer in stores.

DC Superheroes - Man-Bat
Man-Bat comes in some pretty cool packaging. The box is made to look like a crate and has Wayne Tech Research Division stamped on the front with a big "WARNING" sign. On the inside is a coffin like container that is covered in black fuzz.
Spread the wings of the coffin open and you'll find your brand new Man-Bat figure hanging upside down. Very nice packaging. After taking Man-Bat out of his cool packaging, you'll see that you have yourself one really fine action figure, but its not without its faults. The sculpt itself is really good. A lot of detail in the muscle and skin. His arms are thin and his wings can sometimes make him hard to pose without falling.
Man-Bats articulation is pretty good too. He's got the standard joints in the neck, shoulders, biceps, elbows, wrists, abdominal, waist, hips, knees and ankles. As mentioned it is hard to pose Man-Bat due to wings which sometimes will make him topple over.
Overall, Man-Bat is a must have if you are a Batman rogue collector, or even a Mattel action figure collector. Great sculpt, paint job
Sculpt - 9, Paint- 9.5, Accessories - 0, Articulation - 9, Fun - 8
Overall Score - 8.5/10
Looking to get your hands on Man-Bat. He was never sold in any stores or online. You're best bet as usual with these figures is trying eBay. That's where i got mine. He will go from anywhere between $20 and $40.

DC Superheroes - Mongul
To find DC Universe Classics action figure by Mattel on eBay, click here
On to the second half of Mattel's Super Enemies Figure Pack from their DC Universe Classics 2 pack series. My last review was of the re-released Cyborg Superman so today I'll review the other figure from that 2 pack, Mongul.
Mongul is bigger than the standard DCUC or DCSH action figure. He is about the same height as Mattel's DC Superheroes Darkseid, 7 1/4 inches tall.
Mongul's face sculpt is very angry looking. Someone really ticked this guy off! The face is very well details with a lot of wrinkles. The body is thick and muscular. Mongul's hands and fee are huge.
Mongul's paint job is also pretty good. The face is shaded with a darker yellowy brown. His eyes are bright red with black outlines and are painted on cleanly. Looking over the rest of his body, there really aren't any major painting flaws to speak of.
Articulation is not usually a problem with these Mattel action figures. Mongul has all the standard joints. Neck, shoulders, biceps, elbows, wrists, abdominal, waist, hips, thighs, knees and ankles. The hip joints are a little restricted because of Mongul's thick belt but unless you're going to be making him do the splits, you probably won't care.
Unfortunately, Mongul is one of those action figures that does not come with any accessories. He is big and bad and doesn't need any weapon to beat you to a bloody pulp.
Overall, Mongul was surprisingly a very cool looking figure. If it wasn't for Mattel's Toys R Us 2 packs, I probably would never have gotten this action figure but I'm glad I did. I actually like him a lot more than Cyborg Superman. Great sculpt and paint job once again.
